Tampa Day 3
Today we did a lot! We started with a museum where we learned about pirates and dinosaurs. Did you know that most pirates were originally employed by the British Navy to harass their enemies during war, but after the war was over they didn’t have a job so they started harassing the British as well.
After grabbing some delicious pizza for lunch, we walked over to the U.S.S. Victory. This ship was a cargo carrier during WW2 and was one big boat. We got to see where they steered the boat, where they slept, and where they ate, and even the engine room, which went from the bottom of the boat to the top.
We hitched a ride on the historic trolley that took as through downtown and then into Ybor City, where we saw a literal chicken crossing the road. It was fun to see all the old buildings, but the best part was revisiting some old photos taken on the same trolley. And of course we finished the day by swimming at the beach.
