San Francisco Day2

The next day was busy, busy, busy! Our first stop was Alcatraz. On the boat ride over you get a perfect view of the skyline, Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz. We didn’t get to go inside to the cells, but we got to walk around outside. There was a lot I didn’t know about this place. One time some people tried to escape in a bowl used for churning butter! And in the 1930’s, they just threw people in there randomly. I’m putting this on my come back and see list too so I can go inside and take a tour.

After taking a walk through Fisherman’s Wharf, we made it to Boudin Sourdough Factory. So much bread! I got a grilled cheese with a salad. We also got, and get ready for this because it’s a lot of food, a family of turtles made out of bread, 6 lemon bars, 2 chocolate croissants, and an extra loaf of bread.

As if we hadn’t already had enough food we went to the Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory. This place is heaven. Two floors of chocolate and ice cream. I got the smallest option that for about 25 squares, but the lady there was a master. She crammed at least 35 squares in there. I hope I don’t eat them all.

Most of the time Lombard Street is bumper to bumper but we saw three cars go down. Your not supposed to run down but there was no one there. It was great having San Francisco to ourselves.

Our final stop in San Francisco was the Golden Gate Bridge. It was really windy and mom thought we going to fly over the side. There were about 100 windsurfers in the bay. They were everywhere. The bridge was much larger than I thought and it was cool to walk on something so iconic.
