Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse
Today we got to see something I’ve always wanted to see, Mt. Rushmore. We had to drive up a steep mountain to get there, and I didn’t think the RV was gonna make it. After some spectacular driving from mom, we made it to the top. We didn’t know if we were gonna be able to see it because it snowed the night before and it was really foggy. We got really lucky and got to see the mountain for a couple minutes. We then went to the museum and when we came back out, we couldn’t see it. But it was all okay because some fun guy made a replica out of snow, which I think was better than the real one. For lunch Will and I tried Bison burgers and chili which was surprisingly delicious. Overall I was very disappointed in the weather.
After we ate our lunch we took a scenic drive through the black hills. The hills are so beautiful in the snow. All the pine trees are coated in snow and the black granite will pop out of them. After a while we pulled into Crazy Horse Memorial. It isn’t done yet and I do t think it will ever be. The people in charge have turned down 20 million dollars. All that’s finished is the head and half of the arm. It was still cool to see though. They had a cool museum full of native Americans artifacts and we saw someone perform a dance with hoops. It was fun to watch.
