Little Bighorn

Today started out with the failure of the heater. Through the night we were so cold! We all just huddled in moms bed with all the blankets. We were freezing!

We had an all driving day and Little Bighorn was our only stop. I have mixed feelings about the America’s Quest for the West. The native Americans were treated so horribly, but it continued the expansion of this great nation. Anyway we took a walking tour across a valley where much of the fighting happened. After the battle was over, the cavalry went back and buried everyone right where they were and then stuck a teepee post in the ground. They then went back and put a white granite stone for the cavalry and a red granite stone for the Native Americans. After the trail we walked to a memorial and Custer’s last stand. The black gravestone is Custer’s.
